The Contactless Experience
Instead of waiting in a front desk line or juggling card information and room keys after a long drive, guests can head straight to their room and settle in on their own schedule. It is one of the reasons we love the contactless experience so much.
How You Receive Your Check-In Information
Before your arrival, you will receive your room number and personalized door code. This secure access code gives you entry to both the building and your room, making the arrival process quick and easy.
The hotel provides exterior entry panels outside of each door so guests know exactly what to look for when they arrive.
Where to Park and How to Get Here
Located right on King Street in downtown Boone, the 1850 Hotel is very easy to find, whether you are arriving from the highway, campus, or any other part of town.
Our hotel offers on-site parking exclusively for guests. Parking is limited to one vehicle per reservation, and the lot is accessible through a one-way entrance off of Howard Street.
Once you register your vehicle through the link sent along with your check-in information, you can park in any of the spots designed with an orange fox logo. Afterwards, you can head directly from the parking area to any of our entrances. We have designed two side stairwell entrances, a main lobby, and a wheelchair access entrance for your convenience. All you will need is your personalized access code to enter.
(If you are in our lot facing the building, our wheelchair access can be found by heading along the right side of the building past the comeback shack, to our rollaway entrance.)
Benefits of Arriving Early
If possible, arriving earlier in the afternoon, closer to the 4:00 PM check-in time, can make your stay even smoother.
Parking is easier to locate before downtown Boone gets busier later in the day, and hotel staff are more readily available during check-in hours (4-6 PM) if you have any questions before settling in. Early arrivals also give you extra time to explore Boone before dinner or an evening event.
Keep in mind as well that your personalized door code will not activate until 4:00 PM unless it has been confirmed by a staff member of your earlier arrival.
Arriving Late? No Problem
Late-night arrivals are one of the biggest advantages of our contactless hotel.
Whether you are driving in after work, arriving from the airport, or spending the evening downtown before check-in, your code will still work no matter when you arrive. You can check in at your own pace without feeling the need to coordinate with hotel staff.
Things to Do Once You Arrive
One of the best parts about staying at The 1850 Hotel is that you are already in the heart of town.
Guests can easily walk to Downtown Boone for shopping, restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries. You are also close to Appalachian State University, making the hotel a great option for game days, campus visits and tours, or other local events.
If you want to stay close to the property, you can also enjoy the fireplace lounge located in our lobby, fitness room, or onsite dining at Daniel and The Dog (Tuesday-Saturday @5PM).
